Low carb diet/meals leave me hungry?

Whenever I eat a low carb meal for eg;

Chicken/fish/tofu/steak + vegetables

Right after the meal I feel a little hungry. But not the same kind of hungry feelin you get for food, like something is lacking, and often my feet/body will get cold.

I think it’s because my body isn’t that great in turning my own body fat into energy and needs carbs

    There’s no evidence that lower carbs help anything but reduce your water weight temporarily, any doctor can tell you that. The key is to get high fiber in the carbs you do eat.

    Well, partly this is dependent on how long you’ve been doing it. It takes a while for your body to adjust. Keep a jar of Simply Jif around, and swipe a teaspoonful whenever you feel hungry. If it doesn’t stop after a teaspoonful, make yourself something hot to drink like herbal tea or coffee.

    But also, it’s a bad idea to go low-carb if you’re exercising. It’s just too hard for your body to have to replace lost glycogen in your muscles from mostly protein. You lose too much energy making the necessary chemical steps getting there. You’re better off with something more balanced like a 40/30/30 diet. Even make protein the 40 if you want, but don’t go below 30 on carbs if you’re exercising.

    Another thing that gives you an empty feeling after eating is h pylorii bacteria, which will eventually lead to stomach ulcers, but first, it will give you gi distress, and possibly GERD for years.

    After this was killed off by antibiotics for me, I suddenly lost the “I’m hungry after meals” feeling. So get the simple blood test to se if you’ve been exposed. Over 70% of people have been exposed because it’s in the tap water.

    Yeah, you’ll feel like this for a few weeks. Then your body adapts to using your fat stores as energy, and it’s all good.

    Once a week, have a cheat meal.
